Notes on product color (anodizing)
Since this product is an aluminum product, it is anodized (anodized) to improve corrosion resistance and wear resistance.
Anodized aluminum has the characteristic of being difficult to reproduce a uniform state in terms of color and luster, so the color and luster change depending on the production lot.
In addition, during the construction of anodized aluminum, color loss occurs in the part that is in contact with the jig, but since it is an unavoidable event in the process, we cannot respond to complaints, returns, or exchanges related to these color views, etc. Please note.
Developed for races that require driver change. In races that require frequent driver changes, it is more accurate and less wasteful to just flip up the steering wheel (tilt-up) rather than attaching and detaching the steering wheel with a quick release. In order to meet this need, we have renewed the RAPFIX GTC, which was already released for use on public roads, as a competition-specific part.
By pulling the newly designed large lever specifically designed for competition, the plug on the vehicle side and the socket on the steering wheel side part tilt up. It is equipped with a suspend function that stops at any angle and a hold function that eliminates the need to operate the lever again when tilting down.
When tilting down, simply hold the steering wheel and tilt it down, and the two indentations engraved into the plug and the tapered hole provided in the socket are fitted with precision steel balls for ball bearings. It is fully coupled by the force of the coil spring loading on the sleeve arm.
Using the ball lock system established in the Rafix series, smooth hinge opening and closing and locking without shaking are realized.
Eliminated the problem of rattling and wear. It greatly contributes to the driver's severe steering wheel operation.
Developed exclusively for competition vehicles. Mounting on the vehicle has 6 holes of PCD 50.8mm and threaded holes of M5P0.8 on the plug mounting surface.
The steering wheel mounting part is also PCD 50.8mm and has 6 threaded holes for M5P0.8, and in order to respond to various electronic functions, 2-channel electrical contacts can be installed as an option, and there is a space on the steering mounting surface for wiring escape, making it convenient.
We conduct tests as defined by the NAPAC standard (*1), which is a product standard for the Japan aftermarket.
As a result of these tests, it was demonstrated that although it caused very little permanent deformation in the bending test, it was still possible to tilt up afterwards, and that there was no problem at all with the specified load in the torsion test. In addition, a bending load was applied to the breakdown to determine the final tilt-up limit, and although the elongation was significant at 38 kg·m (372 N·m) and led to failure, it was confirmed that it did not break and continued to elongate gently, and did not become impossible to steer.
In addition, in an internal test of durability operation that repeats tilt-up and tilt-down (lock) operations 30,000 times, it was confirmed that it can be operated 30,000 times without replacing parts, although it is necessary to refuel each part in the middle.
*1 This strength test is to transmit steering force by steering the steering wheel, and for radial force, a static load of 29.7 kg·m (291 N·m) is applied as a torsion test and there is no breakdown, and in the bending load where the driver's weight acts on the top position of the steering wheel, there is no failure with a static weight of 19.8 kg·m (194 N·m) as a bending test.
